Whilst working on a feature about the Kawran bazaar in Dhaka, the biggest market in Bangladesh in spring 2005, I spent several days visiting the place early morning and late in the afternoons, staying well into the night a few times. It was a hot, crowded, dusty and dirty place and heaving with activity of all kinds. In short, it was a busy anthill of humanity milling about, and although I spent most of my time up-close with hawkers, porters and traders, I was looking for a shot that would show both the beauty as well as the chaos on the ground.
After trying most of the elevated positions in and around the bazaar, I blagged my way into a derelict concrete highrise, about 15 storeys high and I set up there with a long lens. The rest is in the picture. View the whole feature at www.jirirezac.com/stories/kawranbazaar
