I took this in Siena, Italy during a week spent in 2005 (I also covered the event in 2006 and plan to return this year) covering the Palio di Siena for a personal project.

These ladies are part of a parade depicting local produce (wine in this case!) in the days running up to the final race.

I just love the silliness of it all…

Clive Evans started out as an assistant photographer at RAE Farnborough in 1967, then moved to the Surrey Advertiser Group in 1969.

In 1971 he moved to London and freelanced mainly for the music press until 1975 when he was lured into the financial services industry. It wasn’t until 2000 that he gave in to his yearning to be a photographer again, since when he has mostly undertaken UK travel-related feature work and corporate commissions for non-UK clients (mainly US). He finds his financial sector experience helps him communicate with the US corporate clients!

Clive has bases in Antibes, France, and West Cork, Ireland.
