This is from a recent shoot I did with the hairdressers Toni & Guy. It is part of a series of five images for their new hair collection and was taken in my studio, which is in a converted church in central Bristol. Shooting hair is quite tricky, as it doesn’t always do what you want it to. We would begin the shoot and after taking five frames would have to stop for the hair stylist to spray the modal’s hair or make adjustments with a comb. Then the clothes would need to have a small adjustment because of all the movement. And so it goes on. The whole process is ‘test and measure’ with frequent pauses to make all important alterations. Patience and a keen eye are essential to work with a team of stylists, models and make-up artists and keeping the client happy too.
