Actor-Photographer-Paparazzi-Whatever

Anyone who has stopped for a coffee in LA will recognise the experience of being served by an Actress-Model-Whatever: an aspiring Hollywood hopeful forced to wait tables while waiting for fame to knock at the door. But now we have a new phenomenon: the aspiring actors who fill in the time between now and stardom by…pretending to be paparazzi at parties.

Meet Jon and Paul. Jon’s a Actor-Photographer-Paparazzi-Whatever. Paul’s a Actor-Amateur-Photographer-Paparazzi-Whatever, who…well to be honest, his headshot frankly scares us. Together they are the spoof paparazzi team, called, somewhat confusingly, Genuine Paparazzi, who invite you to give your party the “paparazzi feel”. Presumably this means treating your guests to an upskirt shot as they get out of the taxi, waiting outside in the cold, and not photographing them again until they fall down drunk on the pavement afterwards.

What is EPUK?

EPUK is an email group for professional editorial photographers who want to talk business. We don’t do techie stuff or in-crowd gossip. We don’t talk cameras or computers. What we talk about are the nuts and bolts of being in business - like copyright, licensing, fees and insurance.
