While the collapse of troubled photographic distributor Sangers didn’t really come as a surprise to seasoned observers of the photography industry, what has come as more of a surprise is that, according to the report in the BJP, Sangers has apparently been around since 1820. Presumably, they spent the first years of their existence sitting around in an empty shop, drinking lots of tea, waiting for Chevalier, Daguerre, Wolcott and all to invent something they could sell.
