For the Magnum fans you can see the new Magnum in Motion website here and is probably a fine example on how photographers can get better exposure by making their work interactive.
For photojournalists this allows you to comment on the story “how it is” with no need for a scribe or editor to change the slant on your story.
However nice a multimedia presentation is the question still remains; How do you get paid and from where?
