Irish freelance John McHugh has been wounded whilst in Afghanistan with US troops according to Ireland On Line.
It is said McHugh suffered shrapnel wounds to his body and was airlifted to Baghran air base for treatment.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Several US troops were also injured in the attack.
