Snappers Boycott Westlife

Photographers from the Aberdeen Express have refused to cover a gig by boyband Westlife because of copyright restrictions reports HoldTheFrontPage.

The paper says that the band’s management wanted to control the paper’s usage of the pictures on its website and subsequent sales to the public.

Express photographers refused to to sign the restrictive document and so we were not allowed into the performance.

Editor Damian Bates said: “It’s appalling that the management of bands like Westlife deny their fans the chance to enjoy photos in the Evening Express of what was a great night.
