This photo always makes me smile as it sums up Los Angeles – taken whilst on a job, I took a couple of frames in passing as a record. I’ve taken many technically better since – but to me highlights how the USA sometimes misses the point!
Paul Debois started his photographic career as an assistant photographer at the MOD in the late 1970’s. In 1985 he joined Haymarket Publishing as a staff photographer, working on motoring and health titles.
In 1988 he decided to go freelance, and spent many years working for motoring magazines and manufacturers, photographing cars and people. In 1998 he returned to his initial interest in photography, namely landscapes, and started to work more and more with flowers and gardens, contributing to several specialist stock libraries.
Ambition: Maybe one day get a cheque from Alamy!
