The picture was taken in London at the home of Peter Holgate who is an accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers to illustrate a story for the their internal news magazine.
The story itself is about Peter playing at a private function at the Ivy whilst Elton John was downstairs having dinner and as part of Peter’s repertoire he played Rocket man.
I had been with another client earlier in the day and had read the tribute to Arnold Newman in The Times in their reception and decided to shoot one shot in a style of his famous portrait of Stravinsky not that I am in his league but for over 20 years have admired his work. Peter was a pleasure to photograph and I shot this towards the end of the session. I converted the file to black and white as I prefer it this way.
