Photographer since 2004, EPUK member since 2005

Pinhole photography has become a passion for me. I cross-process and push Velvia 100 two stops and use a Lenox laser 250 micron mounted in a Bessa L. This produces a very contrasty, saturated image compared to using film rated normally and very strange effects are created with back lit objects. I have ordered a 5×4 field camera, which I should receive in a couple of days and I can’t wait to get back into black and white processing.

Chris currently is a freelance press photographer working for two different Scottish papers, shooting news and features, he also provides pictures to other picture desks too. Having studied photography for three years at the Glasgow College of Building Printing, he began a job-share in 2001, working as a picture researcher for the Scottish Daily Mail. Three years later the Centre Press Agency in Glasgow took him on as a staff photographer and he has been freelance since 2005.

What is EPUK?

EPUK is an email group for professional editorial photographers who want to talk business. We don’t do techie stuff or in-crowd gossip. We don’t talk cameras or computers. What we talk about are the nuts and bolts of being in business - like copyright, licensing, fees and insurance.
