Thelma wants to come in from the cold– Brian Harris, 2008

1 February 2010

Our cat – one of two – Thelma, mewing at the window asking to be let in from the cold snowy conditions outside.

I love making pictures close to home, early morning frost, spiders webs, all sorts of things in the garden… you don’t have to go half way around the world to make good images, you just have to look on your own doorstep. When I was on the Indy and Times I would always come in with a quirky picture on a quiet day to fill a hole somewhere.

In the late 2000’s Brain Harris has concentrated on generic stock, corporate clients and chilling out! In the mid 2000’s he worked on the Remembered project for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and has been freelance since 1999. Brian was a staffer on the Independent during the 80’s-90’s and the Times during the 70’s-80’s. Before that dinosaurs roamed the earth! Brian is also a founder member of EPUK.

Photographer since 1969, EPUK member since 1999.

What is EPUK?

EPUK is an email group for professional editorial photographers who want to talk business. We don’t do techie stuff or in-crowd gossip. We don’t talk cameras or computers. What we talk about are the nuts and bolts of being in business - like copyright, licensing, fees and insurance.
