EPUK is proud to announce this week’s winner of the “No Shit, Sherlock” award. The lucky recipient this time round is consultancy firm InfoTrends, who, for the price of $17,000 (or one month’s Shutterstock royalties) will tell you that in 2010, “quite a lot” of professional images will be shot digitally. In a further stunning insight, InfoTrends will also tell you that “photographers will continue to purchase new digital cameras”. Apparently they take 275 pages to say this, so either they’re using some of them there big book-learnin’ words, or they’ve stated the sodding obvious in 144-point.
We also love the sample bar chart, showing what they describe as “camera penetration”: a concept any freelance who has angered ex-Record pic ed and PA supremo “Knuckles” Nicol (see this week’s Weekly News) will already be familiar with.
And we weren’t joking about the price, either: see here
