The National Media Museum and film producer Michael G Wilson are backing a a project that will award annual bursaries of up to £20,000 to upcoming photographers reports Amateur Photographer.
The awards will help ‘talented photographers’ produce work that develops and enhances their ‘practice and profile’,
Greg Hobson, the Curator of Photographs at the National Media Museum in Bradford, said: ‘As part of the museum’s ongoing commitment to contemporary photography we are seeking to increase awareness of contemporary photography by promoting the work of emerging photographers.’
The awards will be granted from October 2007.
Applicants are asked to provide a brief written synopsis of an ongoing or proposed project, along with their CV, an example of their work and an application form.
Applicants can be of any nationality provided they are resident in the UK at the time of the award, say organisers.
The closing date for applications is 30 September 2007.
