Picture agency Splash News is using recognition software to spot its photographs in newspapers and magazines reports Holdthefrontpage.
The agency says it can match images which are published on the news stands to images in its archive of more than a million photographs.
Splash says the technology now enables it to accurately monitor usage of its material and prosecute bloggers who use copyrighted material online.
