Philip Jones Griffiths’ haunting collection of iconic Vietnam images may be lost to his home country of Wales reports IcWales.
For six years Griffiths – who is suffering from cancer has looked for a home where his images can be kept on display to the public after his death.
The photographer would prefer his images to be displayed at a Welsh university, where they would prove an invaluable resource for research students.
But despite negotiations with leading Welsh universities like Bangor and Aberystwyth the photographer has not been able to secure the permanent exhibition space he is looking for due to disagreements over public access.
Meanwhile, as he struggles to find a suitable venue in Wales he has had offers from France, the United States, Italy and London to house his work.
