Life magazine – has announced that the 20th April issue will be its last, citing falling revenues from print advertising, PDN reports. The photojournalism stalwart has announced its own death on at least two previous occasions.
Life is currently published as a weekly newspaper supplement, with a print run of over 13 million copies in over 100 newspapers
It was also announced yesterday that Life’s collection of 10 million images – featuring work by Alfred Eisenstaedt, Gordon Parks and Margaret Bourke-White among others – will be put online and made available for ‘personal use’ for free.
