American photographer Bob Shell has been sentenced to 32 years and six months in jail for the manslaughter of 19-year-old model, Marion Franklin, reports Amateur Photographer.
The teenager is said to have died of an accidental overdose of morphine at Shell’s photo studio in Virginia, USA.
Shell was a well-known photography journalist who had written more than 20 books on cameras and photography including the respected Hove Pro Guide to the Mamiya system.
He is also a former technical editor and editor-in-chief of the US-based photography magazine Shutterbug.
It is reported that Shell’s attorney has filed a notice of appeal.
