Photographer shot in Burma

Footage capturing the last moments of Kenji Nagai’s life has been aired on YouTube – raising official suspicion that the photo-journalist was murdered by Burmese troops

Footage capturing the last moments of Kenji Nagai’s life has been aired on YouTube – raising official suspicion that the photo-journalist was murdered by Burmese troops reports the Times.

The shaky footage appears to show Nagai being shoved violently to the ground by a soldier and shot at point-blank range.

A loud crack is audible as a soldier points his rifle at Nagai.

The Daily Mail also shows a series of still images of the incident.

A doctor at the Japanese embassy in Burma confirmed a bullet entered Nagai’s body from the lower right side of his chest, pierced his heart and exited from his back.

The footage, say Japanese experts, contradicts the official Burmese explanation of Nagai’s death – that he was killed by a “stray bullet”.
