Photographer Romuald Rat has refused to testify at the inquest into the death of Princess Diana reports Associated Press.
The photographer is said to have received a summons from the Coroner to give evidence by video link from Paris but refused saying he would not appear “either today or any day.”
His refusal comes after the coroner lost a legal bid to have testimony from paparazzi involved in the case read to the jury.
During the hearing it was claimed that instead of helping the Princess at the scene Rat telephoned from the tunnel offering to sell exclusive pictures of Diana in the wreck of her Mercedes for £300,000 to a newspaper.
The jury had heard the transcript of a TV interview with Kenneth Lennox, former picture editor of The Sun tabloid, who said he was telephoned by the photographer offering pictures of the crash.
However, Lennox subsequently told the inquest he has accepted that along with other photographers Rat was already in police custody at that time of the call.
