RIGHTS GRAB: Insight/Indy

EPUK RIGHTS GRAB WATCH: The Independent on Sunday/Insight Guides Travel Photography Competition 2006 rather curiously asks for what appears to be copyright, but only in connection with the competition – a legal impossibility, our lawyers advise us.

4.USE OF MATERIALS
a) The winners must agree to assign copyright to Independent Newspapers in reference to the Insight Guides Travel Photography Prize. Copyright for all submitted photography belongs solely to the winners otherwise.

But it’s still a rights grab, and that’s bad.
