A freelance photographer was arrested while covering a Mansfield Town football match for a local newspaper reports Holdthefrontpage.
Dan Westwell, (32), had been pitchside during the match when he was asked by stewards to leave the ground, and was then arrested and taken to Mansfield Police Station.
He was later charged with a public order offence and released on bail. He is due to appear at Mansfield Magistrates Court on Friday.
Westwell said he still had not been told why he was removed from the ground, but believes it may have been because he had a photograph of a ‘Haslam Out’ road sign displayed on his laptop.
Tensions among the crowd were running high at the club’s ground on Saturday, with loud chants against Mansfield Town FC owner Keith Haslam.
