A Grandmother and Grandfather were banned from a shopping centre for life and branded terrorists by security staff for taking photographs of their grandchildren reports The Daily Mail.
Kim and Trevor Sparshott were ordered to stop taking photos by a security guard at Fareham shopping centre, Hants because it was said they were creating a security threat.
The guard then insisted that cameras were banned because of the risk of a terrorist attack – and barred the couple for life.
Mrs Sparshott, 51, said: “I couldn’t believe it. I was so shocked, he said we had committed an act of terrorism.
Speaking after the incident, a spokesperson for the centre said: “Fareham Shopping Centre is private property and has a policy to support the security of the shops, where the taking of photographs needs prior permission.
However the centre denied that the Sparshotts had received a life ban and said they were welcome back. The security guard concerned is said to have subsequently left the centre.
