“The hard part of photography for me is being able to see things as they really are – not how you think they look,” says Alex who was travelling for one year.
“I had to be focused in seeing past what I thought looked interesting from a foreigner’s or tourist’s perspective, to what really looked good from a photographic point of view.”
Now based in London, Alex freelances for PR, editorial, charity and performance clients.
• Alex Rumford’s Asia is at the Jackson Lane Theatre, 269a Archway Road, Highgate, London N6 5AA, from March 31st to May 30th, 2010.
Prints are available from £60. For details contact info@alexrumford.com
