Alex Rumford's Asia

21 April 2010 - EPUK

An exhibition of photographs of Asia by EPUK member Alex Rumford has opened at the Jacksons Lane Theatre in Highgate, London.

After quitting as senior photographer on the Bristol Evening Post EPUK member Alex Rumford spent a few months photographing in Nepal before beginning a pan-Asia journey that encompassed India, Bali, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Photographs from Alex’s travels have now gone on show at the Jacksons Lane Theatre in London.

“The hard part of photography for me is being able to see things as they really are – not how you think they look,” says Alex who was travelling for one year.

“I had to be focused in seeing past what I thought looked interesting from a foreigner’s or tourist’s perspective, to what really looked good from a photographic point of view.”

Now based in London, Alex freelances for PR, editorial, charity and performance clients.

Alex Rumford’s Asia is at the Jackson Lane Theatre, 269a Archway Road, Highgate, London N6 5AA, from March 31st to May 30th, 2010.

Prints are available from £60. For details contact info@alexrumford.com

What is EPUK?

EPUK is an email group for professional editorial photographers who want to talk business. We don’t do techie stuff or in-crowd gossip. We don’t talk cameras or computers. What we talk about are the nuts and bolts of being in business - like copyright, licensing, fees and insurance.
