It is not a particularly easy thing to set up and I had to give them two days notice to book out the lorries, so I couldn’t actually pick the sky conditions and had to go with what ever it was. We took a couple of crossings to get everything in the right place, and tried shooting on both bridges, but in the end I blended two shots to get the final image they used.
Brian Cottam’s business as a commercial, advertising and pr photographer began around 2000, previously working as a freelance video and lighting camera operator and assisting photographers. His background stems from fine art printmaking in the early 90’s experimenting with mediums such as photo etching and litho but naturally found the draw of photography to be his unfolding career.
