Heath - Andy Scaysbrook, 1992

Heath – Andy Scaysbrook, 1992.
Photographer since 1985, EPUK member since 2006.

This photograph of Sir Edward Heath was taken at the Tory Party Conference in Bournemouth back 1992 I believe . We had just finished an interview with him when I spotted the cleaner approaching with a big grin on his face! He then set about cleaning the floor with a “I don’t give a toss who you are mate” attitiude, much to the disgust of old Ted. People still think it’s Teddy Sheringham with the vacuum cleaner! Strange.

Andy Scaysbrook started his working life freelancing in the Midlands in 1985. Having assisted a commercial photographer for the three previous years he set out to try and make a living.

He spent a few years shooting the programme for his beloved / hated in equal measures!.. Coventry City FC, before moving down to Bournemouth to take up a job with the Echo staying for many years to enjoy much fun and games and a few “arf decent” pics.

Andy then trudged off down the road and worked for the Southern Daily Echo in Southampton for 5 years as Deputy Picture Editor before going out into the big bad freelance world once again. Since then, Andy has been shooting all sorts of different things from advertising to sport and a fair amount of editorial. People pictures are what he enjoys the most, and portraiture is his passion.

Photographer since 1985, EPUK member since 2006.

What is EPUK?

EPUK is an email group for professional editorial photographers who want to talk business. We don’t do techie stuff or in-crowd gossip. We don’t talk cameras or computers. What we talk about are the nuts and bolts of being in business - like copyright, licensing, fees and insurance.
