Tom Morello - Laurence Baker, 2005

26 April 2007

Tom Morello – Laurence Baker, 2005
Photographer since 1993, EPUK member since 2007.

I’d recently shot Tom in Los Angeles for Total Guitar magazine so when Audioslave came to London I went along and shot the show.

I shot film and B&W, and this is one of my favourites. It shows him in full flight and any Morello fan would instantly recognise that it was him.

Laurence Baker started out in the early 90’s assisting a music photographer and was soon shooting his own stuff for music magazines.

In the mid 90’s Laurence made a little detour and started shooting for motor racing magazines, trying to make racing drivers look like rock stars. Having accomplished that particular mission he went back to shooting rock stars and is now busier than ever. Laurence says that the best thing about shooting rock stars is that they don’t get up until at least midday and you always get front row seats.

Laurence shoots for glossy monthlies here and in the US as well as for bands and record companies, and you can see his cover shot and main feature in the May ’07 edition of Guitarist magazine.

Photographer since 1993, EPUK member since 2007.

What is EPUK?

EPUK is an email group for professional editorial photographers who want to talk business. We don’t do techie stuff or in-crowd gossip. We don’t talk cameras or computers. What we talk about are the nuts and bolts of being in business - like copyright, licensing, fees and insurance.
